You don't have to buy fresh garlic, ginger, and chilli peppers every time you need to use them in a recipe. In this video, we show you how you can save time (and money!) if you simply buy in bulk and preserve these ingredients in the fridge or in the freezer.

We show you 2 methods to preserve garlic and ginger. You can grind them in a food processor and preserve them in a glass container submerged in vegetable oil and keep it in the fridge. This stays fresh for 2 weeks in the fridge. But the best way in our opinion is to freeze them so they stay fresh for MONTHS! Freezing them requires no addition of oil.
The great thing about freezing them is that you can make cube-sized portions so that you take one out when needed and thaw it quickly.
