Cathay Pacific Community Flight fulfills dreams for less-advantaged families

We operated a special flight that took more than 200 Hong Kong residents from less-advantaged single-parent families into the skies over the city in Jan 2013. Participants ranged from age 4 to 68 came from families that had never taken a flight together before. The flight took them over the South China Sea for 90 mins , and gave everyone the opportunity to catch sight of the stunning bird's eye view of Hong Kong. It was a great opportunity for family members to spend quality time together 25,000 feet above the ground, with food and drinks served by our cabin crew. The participants -- many of whom don't have much opportunity to leave their home district were excited to visit the airport and try out our seats and inflight entertainment system on the aircraft. The event's guest of honour was The Honourable C Y Leung, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR Government. Our Chief Executive John Slosar and 50 CX Volunteers hosted the event
