Why has there been so much pushback for some of our scientists?

There’s more than one reason. Suggesting farmers decouple themselves from the conventional/chemical debt cycle inevitably comes with push back.

But then again, as Professor Swanson says: “Welcome to science.”

Any contrary theory will naturally attract pushback - and there’s plenty of folk that built careers denouncing animal agriculture.

Not everyone wants to hear that cattle can be deeply beneficial for the environment. Just like not everyone wanted to hear about quantum theory.

Luckily, more and more universities like Michigan State are beginning to allow regenerative research to validate what farmers can feel: working with nature generates unexpected and unpredictable potentially exponential regenerative benefit.

The big question is: as these benefits compound, when will it become undeniable to critics?
