"Kalma Shahadate" is an ode to the blessed words of Shahada in Islam. The blessings and significance in these words is beautifully explained in a unique musical manner. The original song is written by the great luminary of Bangla and the Sufi poet Kazi Nazrul Islam (1899-1976). The song inspires Muslims to recite Kalma Shahada as it is a great act of worship (ibadah). The song is formed on 'Taal Kaharba' and first recorded in 1937.

Just like a pearl hidden in the seashell
Oi Kalema Jope je ghumer o agey
Whoever reads this holy kalema before sleeping
Oi kalema jopiya je provate jage
And reads it after waking up
Dukhero Songsar tar Sukho Moy Hoy tar
His troublesome family finds peace and blessings
Musibot ashe nako Hoye na khoti tar
No harm come upon him nor his family
Hardam jopey mone kalema je jon
Whoever reads this holy kalema continuously?
Khodaye totto tar rohe na gopon
The wisdom of God's divine existence becomes visible in his insight
Diler ayena tar hoye jay pak saf
The mirror of his conscience becomes pristine
Allahr Rahe tar Rahey moti soda
His wills are directed towards Allah's commandment
