Can We Make This Rivarossi Dreyfuss Hudson Run Again?

I purchased this 1970s or possibly 80s era Rivarossi New York Central Dreyfuss Hudson at Lark Spur line train store few months ago for $100 Canadian dollars. The low price was mostly due to it not being in working order so today I thought I would have a go at trying to get the locomotive as well as its train cars all working again. This was a very enjoyable project since there was a lot less damage then I was expecting.
