An old donkey is no
An old donkey is no longer wanted by his owner. He decides to travel to the town of Bremen and make a living as a musician. On his way he meets a series of other animals, all disowned by their masters. They agree to join the donkey and make a new start in Bremen. The journey to Bremen is long, and one evening they decide to stop and sleep for the night. They spot house in the distance with a light in the window and a smoking chimney. Hoping to find some food and a bed for the night the animals head over to the house.
Through an open window they see a table laden with food and a group of thieves sitting feasting. The animals sing for their supper and frighten the thieves away. They enjoy the food and settle down to sleep. When one of the thieves returns to the house, he disturbs the animals and gets a fright when they begin to make noise. He runs away and never comes back. The animals never make it to Bremen, instead enjoying a long and happy life in their cosy house.
