"Phir Aayee Barsaat" is a
"Phir Aayee Barsaat" is a very rare Hindi movie to find nowadays.
The film was released in 1985 and featured one of my favourite actresses, Anuradha Patel, along with Sunil Lahiri (better known as Lakshmana from the Ramayana tv serial), Javed Khan, Ashok Kumar, Saeed Jaffrey and Paintal.
Fans of Jagjit Singh or/and ghazals might remember the film for the immortal ghazal "Na Mohabbat Na Dosti Ke Liye, Waqt Rukta Nahin Kisi Ke Liye".
Anuradha Patel has been one of my favourite actresses ever since I saw the movie Rukhsat, co featuring Mithun Chakrevotry. This movie- Rukhsat- is one of the most romantic movies ever made (directed by the actress Simi Garewal) and had a killer soundtrack by Kalyanji Anandji.
In the 90's this movie was remade as the Sunny Deol, Karishma Kapoor, Salman Khan movie "Jeet" which is, at least, as good as the original.
Since then I have seen, almost, every Anuradha Patel movie. Even in it starred someone like Rohan kapoor or even worse, Shekhar Suman. For Anuradha I even did that.
"Phir Aayee Barsaat" is a movie which I have been searching for for years now, at least for a copy i was contend with. If I got a copy either the picture quality was very bad, or the film was edited and scenes were cut out, or the film was dubbed (for instance in Russian) or the songs were cut. And this movie was getting "forgotten" which it does not deserve to be.
As a tribute to my favourite Anuradha Patel I decided to make my own edit of this movie by taking material from 3 different copies/versions I have and editing footage of 2 prints and putting in the sound from the 3rd copy/version.
That is why there will be scenes from 30 seconds to 90 seconds which do not have any sound - because it has been edited from 3 versions.
Normally I do not take any risks for my channel (since my last channel with over 150k subscribers had been deleted) and mute all songs. But for this movie I decided to just take the risk because watching "Phir Aayee Barsaat" without Jagjit Singh's "Na Mohabbat Na Dosti Ke Liye, Waqt Rukta Nahin Kisi Ke Liye" is just not done. And Anuradha looks even more amazing in the song.
I would like to mention that my channel in NOT monetized and I do not get a single penny from any uploads. Not that should matter to anyone who wants to watch a movie on my channel because if the channel is monetized or not does not make the movie better or worse. But there are people who are making it their business in the comments section as if it matters to them.
So I'll just mention it once - the channel in not monetized.
This channel features hard to find, rare Bollywood movies, instrumental cover songs (played by me) and Bollywood Trivia. All of this is only done to share my love, adoration and appreciation for the Hindi films and songs from an era gone by. Like they don't make them any more.
TRIVIA:
Anuradha Patel and Ashok Kumar both star in this movie. In real life Ashok Kumar was Anuradha's nana (maternal grandfather).
In this movie the role of Anuradha's dad is played by Saeed Jaffrey. In real life Anuradha's mother got remarried to Saeed Jaffrey's brother which makes Saeed Anuradha's step uncle.
I hope one will appreciate the effort that went into editing this version of the movie and you will enjoy this movie.
I still like the ending of this movie as it was quite unexpected.
