Learn how to replace, change or install toner in the HP Color LaserJet Pro M155-M156, M255-M256, M182-M185, and M282-M285 printer series. Follow these steps to replace toner in the HP Color LaserJet Pro M155-M156, M255-M256, M182-M185, and M282-M285 Printer Series:
- Open the printer front door.
- Grasp the blue handle, and then slide out the toner drawer.
- On the cartridge to replace, grasp the handle, and then pull it straight up to remove it.
- To prevent toner transfer, avoid touching the drum on the cartridge.
- Set the cartridge aside for recycling.
- On the replacement cartridge, pull the tab to open it, and then remove the cartridge from the package.
- To prevent print quality issues, avoid touching the imaging drum on the bottom of the cartridge.
- Hold the cartridge by the sides and rock it back and forth to evenly distribute the toner.
- Insert the cartridge into its slot in the drawer, matching the color on the cartridge to the color in the drawer.
- If necessary, replace other cartridges that are low or out of toner.
- Push in the cartridge drawer, and then close the front cover to continue printing.
