Follow these steps to Learn how to remove and replace base enclosure for the HP ENVY 17-cg0000 Laptop PC:
- Removal
- Remove the two rubber feet from the base enclosure and set them aside for later replacement.
- Remove the following screws that secure the base enclosure to the top cover:
- Seven P1 Phillips-head screws along the front and rear of the base enclosure.
- Two P1 Phillips-head screws at the front of the base enclosure
- Starting from the top-left side, carefully separate the edges of the base enclosure from the top cover.
- Lift the base enclosure off of the top cover and remove.
- Replacement
- Place the base enclosure into position over the top cover.
- Apply pressure to the edges of the base enclosure to snap it into place.
- Replace the following screws that secure the base enclosure to the top cover:
- Two P1 Phillips-head screws at the front of the base enclosure.
- Seven P1 Phillips-head screws along the front and rear of the base enclosure.
- Replace the two rubber feet on the base enclosure.
Caution: Improperly installing or replacing parts could damage your HP device or void your warranty. Before replacing any parts, check your warranty.
