Countries with the most and least corrupt public sectors in 2018 | Transparency International

The CPI measures public sector corruption in 180 countries and territories around the world with a scale of 100, where 0 is very corrupt and 100 is very clean.

More than two-thirds of countries score below 50 on this year’s CPI, with an average score of just 43.

The top countries are Denmark and New Zealand with scores of 88 and 87, respectively. The bottom countries are Somalia, Syria and South Sudan with scores of 10, 13 and 13, respectively.

It is important to note that NO COUNTRY IS FREE FROM CORRUPTION. The CPI doesn't cover corrupt practices such as tax fraud or money laundering, which happens in countries at the top of our ranking.
