Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction characterized by a dysregulated host response to infection. When it comes to the approach to treating a case of Sepsis there are three priorities which are early recognition, prevention and support of organ dysfunction, and rapid source control. If these steps are achieved, it is easy to treat a case of Sepsis effectively and bring back normalcy.
Anyone who is affected by an infection, severe injury, or serious non-communicable disease can progress to sepsis but the vulnerable population is at higher risk including recently pregnant and pregnant women, neonates, hospitalized patients, patients with HIV/AIDS, patients with conditions like Liver Cirrhosis, Kidney disease, etc.
