علي عبد الله جابر السعيدي (27 أغسطس 1953 / ذي الحجة 1373 هـ - 14 ديسمبر 2005 /12 ذي القعدة 1426 هـ) إمام المسجد الحرام من الفترة من 1401 هـ - 1409 هـ تخللها فترة سفر إلى كندا. تقدم الإمام باستقالته رسمياً من الإمامة في عام 1402 هـ، وعاد ليعود إلى المنصب في عام 1406 هـ حتى عام 1409 هـ. مرض طويل أدى إلى تقاعده. كما عمل أستاذًا في الفقه المقارن في قسم الدراسات الإسلامية بجامعة الملك عبد العزيز في جدة.
ولد علي جابر في جدة في عام 1373 هـ، وانتقل إلى المدينة المنورة عند بلوغه الخامسة من العمر. أحبه الملايين بسبب أسلوبه الفريد في تلاوة القرآن، وقلده العديد من الأئمة بسبب روعة صوته. أعلن استقالته رسميًا من الإمامة في المسجد الحرام بعد عام 1409 هـ، ولم يلتزم بالإمامة في مسجد آخر.
حصل على درجة الماجستير في الفقه المقارن عام 1400 هـ، وعاد ليحقق حلمه بالدكتوراه، وحصل عليها في نفس الوقت الذي كان يؤدي فيه صلاة التراويح في المسجد الحرام. بدأ بعدها حياة تدريس في جامعة الملك عبد العزيز بجدة.
تعتبر حنجرته الجميلة في تلاوة القرآن وتجويده إحدى العجائب التي جذبت انتباه المسلمين حول العالم. عانى الشيخ من فقدان صوته لفترة خلال علاجه. أخذت شهرته تتسع في أوساط المسلمين أثناء قيامه بصلاة القيام في رمضان، وكان يصلي في عدة مساجد بطلب من المصلين.

Ali Abdullah Jaber Al-Saadi (August 27, 1953 / Dhu al-Hijjah 1373 AH - December 14, 2005 / 12 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1426 AH) served as the Imam of the Haram Mosque from 1401 AH to 1409 AH, including a period of travel to Canada. The Imam officially resigned from his position in 1402 AH and returned to resume his duties in 1406 AH until 1409 AH, when a prolonged illness led to his retirement. He also worked as a professor of comparative jurisprudence in the Department of Islamic Studies at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.
Ali Jaber was born in Jeddah in 1373 AH and moved to Medina at the age of five. He was beloved by millions for his unique style of Quranic recitation, and many imams emulated him for the beauty of his voice. He formally announced his resignation from the Imamate of the Haram Mosque after 1409 AH and did not commit to leading prayers in any other mosque.
He obtained a master's degree in comparative jurisprudence in 1400 AH and later pursued his dream of obtaining a doctorate, achieving it at the same time he led Tarawih prayers in the Haram Mosque. He then embarked on a teaching career at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.
His beautiful voice in Quranic recitation and Tajweed became a wonder that captivated Muslims worldwide. The Sheikh suffered a period of voice loss during his treatment. His fame expanded among Muslims as he led Qiyam prayers during Ramadan in several mosques upon the request of worshippers.
