Power and Decision-Making Workshop (January 30, 2024)

​This was a free live workshop on Power and Decision-Making with Maya Hasan (Shifting Power Accelerator). ​Power dynamics must be understood, identified, and challenged for equal partnerships to exist. ​This is a delicate task. ​Are you stuck on your shifting power journey because you skipped it? ​We get that it's hard to broach this topic. ​But did you know that many organizations and donors actively use power analysis and equitable decision-making tools to improve their partnerships? ​It's time you and your organization did, too. ​In this workshop, we shared an industry-tested and proven activity to learn: - ​13:20 how to identify power - formal and informal types - 21:26 how to evaluate levels of community participation - 35:18 ​how to reflect on power, privilege, positionality, and intersectionality ​We also shared: ​- A tool to measure decision-making levels in your partnerships ​- A special discount for workshop participants ​The workshop was hosted by Maya Hasan (any pronouns), the Shifting Power Accelerator facilitator and founder of Fearless Project, a DEI education start-up for the global non-profit workplace. In her 20+-year career, Maya has been trusted by dozens of UN agencies and NGOs. Currently, she is a Co-Creation Advisor for USAID's Partnerships Incubator.
