Begins in the Maramures -
Begins in the Maramures - the most traditional part of Romania where the locals have maintained artisan skills and the same way of life for centuries. As well as more stunning shots of the Carpathians where wolves, bears and bison roam, we will experience a Maramures wedding when the locals wear traditional garb and celebrate with ancient customs. We will visit historic wooden churches and villages, which have been miraculously preserved as well as getting an insight into the making of local products and handicrafts along Vadul Izei. We will then head towards Moldova to meet the monks at the famous Bucovina painted monasteries. En route we will showcase the many ancient farming communities who have been working in harmony with nature for hundreds of years and interview HRH The Prince of Wales who is passionate that this way of life continues to be maintained. Our journey in the Carpathians will end at dramatic Bicaz Gorge and Lacu Rosu, which once again we will capture with stunning aerial photography.
