His school was out for the summer and loved to learn about historic places, so this was perfect. He'd been living with my ex-wife for the first two weeks of the month and the next two weeks, he'd go on vacation with me. My ex and I have been divorced for two years now after I caught her cheating on me with one of her coworkers. Now they're married and living together with his son. My ex and I have joint custody of our son so we worked out an arrangement where he spends the first half of the month with his mother and the second half with me. If it were up to me, I'd have cut my ex-wife out of my life as soon as the divorce was finalized but for the sake of our son, I decided to co-parent my son and maintain a civil relationship with her. But deep down, I know she hates me because I took away a lot in the divorce and the feelings are mutual as she literally cheated on me.
