How to change Windows Password
How to change Windows Password without knowing it:
1. Turn on your PC. When you see the Spinning Circle of Dots, press the Power button for 4-5 seconds to turn off your PC.
2. Do this action two more times, each time turning off your PC when you see the Spinning Circle of Dots.
3. After the third time, turn on your computer again. After a few seconds, you should see the message "Preparing Automatic Repair".
4. Wait a few seconds. After the "Attempting repairs" message, you should see the Recovery screen. Click on "See advanced repair options".
5. On the next screens, select "Troubleshoot", then "Advanced Options", then "System Image Recovery".
6. When you see the message "Windows cannot find a system image on this computer", click "Cancel".
7. Then click "Next".
8. In the next window, click "Advanced".
9. Now, select "Install a driver".
10. Click "OK" at 'Add drivers' window.
11. You will see an 'Open' file window. Here, click the drop-down arrow and find the drive where Windows is installed. This is typically the D: drive.
12. Go to the Windows\System32 folder.
13. Find the "Utilman" file, right-click on it and choose "Rename".
14. Rename the "Utilman" file to "Utilman1". To see the name change, right-click in an empty space and choose "Refresh".
15. Now find the "cmd" file. Right-click on it and select "Copy".
16. Then, right-click in an empty space and select "Paste". When done, right-click in an empty space and choose "Refresh".
17. Find the "cmd-Copy" file and rename it to "Utilman".
18. Right-click in an empty space and choose "Refresh". You should now see the "Utilman" and "Utilman1" files. Close the 'Open' window and click "Cancel" on any other open windows.
19. Go back to the Repair options and click "Continue – Exit and Continue to Windows 10".
20. At the Login Screen, click the Accessibility icon, which is located at the lower-left corner.
21. A command prompt window will open. Enter the following command to change the password of the username:
net user USERNAME password
Replace "USERNAME" with your actual username, and "password" with your new desired password.
22. Close the command prompt window and press ENTER.
