Clip from the 1962 film by famous Russian director Andréi Tarkovsky. Produced by 'The Criterion Collection', Janus Films & Mosfilm Studios.
This is the very first part of the film; the boy is NICHOLAS BURLYAEV, who is the main character of the film. Filmed near the Volga River, close to the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd) in Southern Russia, during the 1942-1943 battle for that city.
This is a well known B&W cinematographic jewel !!!
