Bayraktar KIZILELMA UCAS (Unmanned Combat
Bayraktar KIZILELMA UCAS (Unmanned Combat Aircraft System) development adventure, which opened the doors of a new era in Türkiye's defense and aerospace industry and made a great impression all over the world, is reflected in "The Goal: KIZILELMA" documentary. The story of the development of Bayraktar KIZILELMA, Türkiye's first national and indigenous unmanned fighter aircraft developed by Baykar with its own resources, and Baykar's journey to develop a high-tech national and indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle for nearly 20 years are featured in the documentary titled "The Goal: KIZILELMA".
In this documentary, retired soldiers, engineers and journalists who witnessed Baykar's high-tech development adventure storytell the process from their own perspective. Retired soldiers, including the former 2nd Chief of the General Staff, retired Admiral Ergin Saygun and retired Brigadier General Ömer Faruk Küçük, share testimonials of how their paths crossed with Bayraktar Family and the difficult path Baykar went through. Ömer Bayraktar, brother of the late Özdemir Bayraktar ‒ the pioneer of the ideal of the National Technology Initiative, tells the audience at first hand in Bayraktar KIZILELMA documentary about the adventure, which has achieved success thanks to the struggle carried out with determination and without giving up despite various futile attempts to prevent it.
This documentary is produced by Altuğ Gültan and Burak Aksoy, who have also directed AKINCI documentary. Shooting has taken place for months at Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center in Istanbul and at AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu, Tekirdağ, where Bayraktar KIZILELMA test activities were carried out. This documentary project, which started in February 2022, got accomplished in approximately 9 months.
