At our core, we all have the capacity to be gentle and kind to ourselves. Different experiences in our past can make it challenging to find this core compassionate self. Past hurt, pain, and sorrow make it difficult for this part of ourselves to shine through. Self-judgement, rumination, and isolation lead us to be less compassionate with ourselves and our experiences. Through intentional practice, we can cultivate and nurture an environment where self-compassion and compassion for others can flourish.
