As a young man, Mansoor Ali Khan graduated from IIT Bombay, and went on to study Computer Science at Cornell and MIT — only to discover that he would never pass his Bachelor of Science. Unfazed, he took leave from college in 1980 and found his passion in the film industry, and ended up writing and directing much-loved Bollywood films such as 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar', 'Akele Hum, Akele Tum' and 'Josh'. After 24 years of films and stardom, he finally convinced his family to move to Coonoor to live on and start an organic cheesemaking farm called Acres Wild. The idea was to live sustainably and organically, and prepare for Peak Oil. The 22 acre farmstay is complete with cottages, a cheesemaking unit, a lake and has some great visitors all year round. He comes to TEDxYouth@Anaikatti as the realist to address the economic issues surrounding Peak Oil and speak about 'The Third Curve'.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
