Pegasus, in Greek mythology, a winged horse that sprang from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa as she was beheaded by the hero Perseus.
By the aid of Athena and Poseidon, one of another greek hero, Bellerophon captured pegasus and rode him in his fight with chimera.

Later when Bellerophon was taking his revenge on Stheneboea
Who falsely accused Bellerophon,
Bellerophon tried subsequently to sit on the flying horse but was unseated or killed.
Later the horse became servant of Zeus.

It is believed that spring Hippocrene on Mount Helicon was also created when hoof of pegasus was stuck on a rock.

Well Medusa had another son too,
His name was chrysaor, chrysaor was the brother of winged horse pegasus and sone of Gog medusa and Poseidon.
Both chrysaor and pegasus were born in the same time after Medusa was decapitated.

Very little is known about chrysaor,
He was known as a shout hearted warrior.
His name means, he wo bears a golden sword.
But like his brother pegasus, he didn't play any important role in Greek mythology.

Pegasus was known to be immortal and his brother known to be a warrior like a golden sword.
Pegasus came out from the neck of medusa when she was beheaded.

But why did Perseus killed or beheaded Medusa, well its because a mere glare at medusa was turning everyone to stone, so he was saved as he was following the shield reflection.
Later he beheaded Medusa when she slept because it was his best and only chance.

Like this, Perseus becomes a hero,after killing Medusa, Perseus cuts here head, and uses it later to save his mother in seriphus by turning polydectes and his supporters to stone by the sight of Medusa's head.

Well but who was perseus?, well he was a demigod, son of Zeus and cousin of Percy because his father, Zeus, is brother lf Percy's father, poseidon.
So Zeus, who is a lightning god in Greek mythology and Poseidon who is sea god were brothers.

So by this relation, Athena who cursed Medusa was the nephew of poseidon who played a major role in it.
