The rational root theorem, or
The rational root theorem, or rational zero theorem, allows us to list a polynomial function's potential rational zeros. Although it doesn't directly provide us with the actual roots, it reduces the list of possible rational solutions. Once we have established the list of possible zeros we use trial and error, using horner's method, to determine if any of them are indeed zeros.
