M41坦克由M24輕型坦克改進而成，加強了火力，重新設計了砲塔、防盾、彈藥貯存，增配雙向穩定器及火控系統，提高了機動性，但防護仍然較弱。該坦克戰斗全重23.5噸，裝備一門76毫米坦克炮、一挺7.62毫米同向機槍和一挺12.7毫米高射機槍，動力裝置為一台500馬力風冷汽油機，最大公路時速72千米，最大公路行程161千米。該坦克主要用於裝甲師偵察營和空降部隊，遂行偵察、巡邏、空降以及同敵方輕型坦克和裝甲車輛作戰等任務。

The M41 tank is improved from the M24 light tank, which has enhanced firepower, redesigned the turret, anti-shield, ammunition storage, and added a two-way stabilizer and fire control system to improve maneuverability, but the protection is still weak. The tank has a combat weight of 23.5 tons and is equipped with a 76mm tank gun, a 7.62mm co-rotating machine gun and a 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun. The power plant is a 500-horsepower air-cooled gasoline engine. The maximum highway speed is 72 kilometers per hour. The road trip is 161 kilometers. The tank is mainly used for the reconnaissance battalion and airborne troops of the armored division to perform reconnaissance, patrol, airborne, and combat tasks with enemy light tanks and armored vehicles.
