The Battle of Cable Street: A Clash Between Anti Fascists and Fascists

On Sunday October 4th, 1936, Oswald Mosley and his Blackshirts of the British Union of Fascists organised an anti-Jewish demonstration where they planned to march through Stepney, in the East End of London. Now a largely Bengali area, it used to be a Jewish working-class area. Unsurprisingly, there was a counter-protest. In this video, I talk about how it happened, briefly who Oswald Mosley was, how the British Union of Fascists were formed and what happened in full in the incident.
