How to do a French Fishtail Braid - Hair by Katie D

This braid tutorial is going to show you how to master the French fishtail braid.  Here are my main tips to ace this basic braided hairstyle:

* keep each strand of the braid separated between fingers
* Make sure to “lock” in the braid by taking a section from the inside.
* make sure the hair from the sides you are adding is smooth before you move on
* Finish the braid all the way down with a strandard fishtail, or stop adding hair halfway down for a half-up style, or stop at the nape and secure into a ponytail

This is one of my favorite simple braids because it’s so versatile.  It can be done on short hair or long hair.  It can be added to bridal updos, or made into a half-up hairstyle.  I always love to add hair accessories to my easy hairstyles to make them pop!
