Stephen Foster (1826-1864) Piano Music:

2. The Village Bells Polka (1850)
Foster often composed on a square piano such as this one. This early American square piano is smaller than the more frequently seen Victorian American squares (from the 1860's through 1880's). It has 82 keys and a very light action.
