Toronto floods: Stranded drivers return home to further headaches after record rainfall

Across the Greater Toronto Area
Across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) on Wednesday, people were cleaning up, assessing the damage and asking how the city got inundated by floodwaters in just a few hours.
Crews were out in full force, clearing roadways and removing debris, while many streets and parks remained off limits. As a result of the record rainfall, there were also areas of Toronto that were without power for much of the day.
A pair of stranded motorists on the Don Valley Parkway was helped out of their vehicle by a Global News reporter on the day of the flooding, and it turns out that their troubles did not end when they returned home.
