Syncope or fainting is a short-term loss of consciousness while a patient improves spontaneously. This condition is mainly seen in an elder person but it can occur at any age. It is usually related to insufficient blood flow to the brain. Seeing fearful things, standing for a long time, unusually stressed, etc. are the causes of syncope.
