Black Urad Dal/ maah-1.5 cup
Split Chickpeas  / chana dal-1/2 cup
Salt- to taste
Red Chilli Powder-1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
Green Chilli-2 (finely chopped)
Ginger-1 tsp (finely chopped)
Garlic-1 tsp (finely chopped)
Bay Leaves-2
Cinnamon Stick-1 inch
Black Cardamom-1
Water-7 cup
Clarified Butter-2 tbsp

For Tadka-
Clarified Butter-5-6 tbsp
Cumin-1/2 tsp
Garlic-1 tsp (finely chopped)
Ginger-1 tsp (finely chopped)
Onion-2 (finely chopped)
Tomato-2 (finely chopped)
Kashmiri Red Chilli-1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder-1/2 tsp
Garam Masala-1/4 tsp
Green Coriander-3-4 tbsp (finely chopped)

Langar wali Dal | लंगर दाल | How to make Langar style Dal at home Yum Tadka Punjabi Cooking

LANGAR WALI DAL - Bunch of pulses cooked together with lots of love!
Wondering the secret recipe for that langar wali dal?
Here's my recipe how I remember it..

Process:-
* Add urad dal, chana dal, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger, garlic and bay leaf to a pressure cooker. Cover and lentils turn soft (4-5 whistles)
* Meanwhile, heat ghee and oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and allow to splutter.
* Add ginger, garlic and green chillies, saute till fragrant.
* Add onions and saute till they turn golden. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
* Add tomatoes and saute till the ghee begins to separate.
* Open the pressure cooker, mash the lentils a little with the back of a spoon/spatula.
* Transfer dal into prepared tadka along with chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
* Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
