A sheath voltage limiter (#SVL) is an arrester that reduces risk of damage to cable insulation by limiting overvoltage levels on cable sheaths during a short circuit event. Typical sheath voltages are calculated for normal as well as short circuit conditions, given a properly bonded sheath. This video will help you to learn the concept of SVL and its associated terms such as #overvoltage, #Sheathbondingmethod such as #Singlebonding, #midpoint and #Crossbonding. Part -1 of this Video will provide the basic concept of SVL and Part-2 will provide the detailed working of SVL along with basic explanation of Induced voltage and circulating current. Circulating current and its disadvantages in High power cables is very well explained in the video. How to calculate #circulatingcurrent and sheath induced voltage is also explained very well. Following topics have been covered in very interactive way that ease in understanding the concept in Part-1 & Part-2 Video: 1. Sheath Voltage Limiter working 2. Power Losses associated with the underground power cable 3. Circulating current 4. Sheath Induced voltage 5. what is Standing voltage 6. How to calculate the Circulating current & induced voltage 7. how to protect the EHV /MV cables from Overvoltage 8. Selection criteria for SVL 9.Type of bonding method such as Single, mid & cross bonding 10. How bonding helps in minimizing the induced voltage & circulating current 11. which standard practice need to follow in engineering activity #engineering #sheathvoltage #powercable #electricalengineering #railwayengineering #sheathbonding #overvoltage Watch Part 1 :    • Sheath Voltage Limiter (#SVL) Part -1
