This video is all about steps of grey structure during construction of house in Pakistan & India. These steps of construction will tell you how to mak a grey structure in a budget. Following are the steps which you could follow in the same order in order to construct a budget house:
STEP NO. 1: Preparation of site for construction works: This is where you don’t do clearing and grubbing as this is the house where you have to save the costs. Once excavation is done, you can remove the material.
STEP NO. 2: Chalking: Chalking is being done where all the rooms and areas are properly marked. Keep in mind that you should not make any changes at this stage. All the design has to be finalized before it. Chalking should be exact and re-verify it
STEP NO. 3: Excavation of foundation: Next step is to excavation of foundation and it needs to be rightly done.
STEP NO. 4: Termite proofing: Termite Proofing needs to be done and be careful that there are fumes which come out of it so be cautious.
STEP NO. 5: PCC: Levelling of PCC needs to be done.
STEP NO. 6: Pouring of PCC: Pour the PCC with a ratio of 1:2:4. Levelling is done after pouring. Cement is then sprinkled so that the grip can be made. Plastering of chips with the other walls is also done so that we can protect ourselves from seepage.
STEP NO. 7: Construction of foundation: If you are done with the other steps, the next step is construction of foundations and filling of columns. Front boundary wall is also being done in it and also we have filling of the foundations. Make sure that the foundation is filled once it is made but it is after the next step which is DPC.
STEP NO. 8: DPC (Damp Proof Course): This is a very important rather a mandatory step. If you don’t do it or don’t do it right, you will have a total mess in the house. Make a proper damp proof course.
STEP NO. 9: Construction of Ground Floor walls: Bricks are being put and the masala used for it is 1:4 so that the bricks are rightly bonded. When the wall goes over 5 ft, we use scaffolding
STEP NO. 10: STEEL DOOR FRAMES INSTALLATION: This is where we need steel door frame installation. Normally it is done at this stage. On the other hand, if you are opting for wood door frames, that step is included in finishing of the house
STEP NO. 11: Shuttering: The next step is shuttering. There are two types of shuttering. Steel shuttering and wood shuttering. Normally you should opt for steel shuttering even if you are making a budget house.
STEP NO. 12: Pouring for the ceiling: This is the step which needs to be completed in one day. You have to make all the necessary arrangements. Also do check the weather forecast and if there is rain on that day, delay pouring of ceiling. You need to give cement a setting time. Also, water should stand on the ceiling for a while after one day because it helps to make the bond of cement and steel stronger.
STEP NO. 13: Walls for the first floor: Similarly process of wall construction of 1st storey is started out. Once the house walls are constructed, pouring of ceiling of first floor is done.
STEP NO. 14: Piping for plumbing & Electrical: Make sure that you use PV pipes. The pipes are being joined by heating so that there is no leakage. Also ensure that there is no leakage of pressure issues by making the water to run through. For sewerage pipes, check the level of the pipes and make sure that all the pipes are joined to the manhole.
STEP NO. 15: Plastering: Plastering is done and first we have rough plastering and then we have to make it smooth. The plastering process needs to be checked that there are no bubbles. First you do plastering of roof and then we cover the walls but before plastering the walls, neero is sprinkled on them
STEP NO. 16: Preparation of floors: Last step becomes that flooring has to be made katcha.
In small houses, you have limited spaces for material handling so you have to manage that properly. I would end this video over here where i have covered all the steps of grey structure of the house.
