Gameplay highlights from Fallout 4 VR on HTC Vive, collecting bobbleheads for Perception, Repair, and Intelligence.
Fallout 4 VR is a $59.99 AAA open world VR RPG that supports the HTC Vive. Fallout 4 VR uses sliding style locomotion as well as optional teleportation locomotion for those who prefer it. Fallout 4 VR is a direct port of the mechanics from Fallout 4 into VR. In Fallout 4 VR you hold a weapon in your main hand, and you off-hand is used for pip boy and movement. You fight by using the motion controls to aim your gun or swing your melee weapon, which drastically changes the feeling of combat in Fallout 4 VR. Keep in mind that Fallout 4 VR was not built from the ground up for VR, so most things in the world are still interacted with via highlighting the and pressing a button just like regular Fallout 4.
My initial SPECIAL point allocation in this video:
Strength: 6
Perception: 3
Endurance: 2
Charisma: 5
Intelligence: 1
Agility: 5
Luck: 6
I set up my points under the assumption that I would be collecting bobbleheads for a +1 boost to each stat, as well as the baby book in Sanctuary that lets you increase a SPECIAL stat by 1. My goal for the build is to use pistols and melee weapons with Lone Wanderer and using Dogmeat exclusively as my companion. I am also using Idiot Savant which is a perk that randomly gives you bonus XP for any action, based on a chance that is determined by your intelligence, the lower your intelligence the higher the chance. A character with Idiot Savant will level faster than a character with high intelligence, even without cheesing saves (which makes you level extraordinarily fast).
When I was filming this video, I had to apply a bunch of graphical tweaks to Fallout 4 VR in order to fix some of the launch day graphics issues. Now there is a patch you can download on the beta tab of Fallout 4 VR that should fix these issues without needing graphical tweaks, but if you are looking for a graphics tweaking guide, check this useful post on Reddit:

I was playing Fallout 4 VR on a brand new gaming PC with GTX 1080ti and i7 8700. I was getting good performance from the game, but your mileage may vary based on your PC build. For more information about my PC build with VR benchmarks, check out this video about my new computer:
