Breaking News - Live hearing of ICAI Exam Case in Supreme Court
The Supreme Court today heard three separate petitions related to the upcoming Chartered Accountant (CA) exam 2021 scheduled to be held in July.
The petitioners have sought various reliefs including the postponement of the exam, provision for an opt-out and for an extra attempt to be given to the candidates who fail to appear in the July 2021 exam due to COVID-19 restrictions etc.
The court has listed the matter for tomorrow. During the hearing on Tuesday, a three-judge bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar asked the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to prepare a brief note regarding RTPCR, SOPs for examination halls. Furthermore, it asked the institute to mention the circumstances in which the ‘opting-out scheme can be given.
