How to Calculate Motor Brake Horsepower

A simple formula for calculating brake horsepower when the CFM changes. The formula is BHP2 = BHP1 x (CFM2/CFM1)3 and is one of the fan affinity laws.

Horsepower is greatly effected by changes in speed according to the fan affinity laws.
