The Coil Bowl - Functional Ceramics Using the Coil Method - Simple Hand building Clay Projects

Creating coils can be a challenging task and so it is important to get plenty of practice.  If you're new to the coil method, this project can help you build something practical out of all the coils you make.  One thing I love about this project is that it exposes your imperfections.  Having the exterior of the bowl create a pattern reveals whether the coils are even in thickness, whether they were carefully attached, and whether the coils have remained plastic or dried.  Allow the project to teach you about your work with coils and use what you learn to make adjustments.
