This is part two of Don Bosco’s dream, “The Countless Lambs,” in which he sees a beautiful vision of his Oratory boys in a heavenly garden because they kept their baptismal innocence. He also says the most encouraging words I have ever heard for those who seek to regain their innocence through confession and penance. Sins against innocence cause spiritual sores on a person’s soul, but can be healed through amendment of life:
“Do not be afraid. They are healed and they will disappear. These sores are now no longer dishonorable, just like the scars of a fighter aren’t dishonorable. A fighter who, despite many wounds and the enemy’s best efforts at beating him down, has become victorious. Therefore, they are honorable scars! But more honorable is the one who, fighting bravely amid the enemy, bears no wounds. His safety excites the wonder of all.”
I cannot wait to share this incredible dream with you, as it’s certainly the most encouraging Don Bosco story yet.
