VARUN MUDRA
Varun Mudra is also called as Beauty Mudra. When the tips of the little finger and the thumb are joined and the rest of the fingers are kept straight. Varun Mudra is formed. This Mudra increases the jal (water) element within the body. Almost 70% of the body is water. Thus water is the most abundant element in the body, being present in the protoplasm of cells, extra cellular fluid, lymph, blood, tears, saliva ,mucous, digestive juices, enzymes, hormones, semen, cerebrospinal fluid etc.This Mudra helps rehydrate cells, tissues, muscles, skin, joint-cartilage etc.

Benefits:
• Good for people with dry skin. It removes roughness from the face apart from removing facial wrinkles and purifying blood. It also restores elegance and cleanliness to the face and it enhances beauty.
• Very helpful for gastroenteritis, diarrhea and dehydration.
• Improves the deteriorated quality of the blood due to shortage of water and gives freshness to the body.
• By practicing this mudra 5 to 30 minutes for 30 days, it helps to cure skin disease, excessive perspiration.
• The element water is also associated with tongue and taste. Therefore this Mudra can be used to overcome disorders like loss of taste, sense, dryness of mouth and dry cough.
• Lack of water kills the moisture in skin and causes all kinds of irritation in the skin. Dryness of the skin leading to cracks, dry eczema, psoriasis, etc.
• People with Vayu constitution can derive immense benefit from this Mudra but Pitta and kapha constitution people should perform this Mudra in moderation.
• Unconscious people get consciousness.
Duration: 45 minutes every day, either at one stretch or in 3 parts (for 15 minutes thrice a day).
Precaution: people having water retention in their bodies or people with a Pitta + kapha should perform this mudra in control.
