🔴 #Google #Cloud Functions is a great service in #GCP. It allows you to easily create an event driven application. It is very flexible and easy to use and can do a lot of things!
There are many use cases for Cloud Functions such as executing tasks based on HTTP triggers, or processing data and files based on events such as upload to Google Cloud Storage or through Pub/Sub, in addition to many other integration options and scenarios.
There are 2 generations of Cloud Function. Generation 2 does depend on Cloud #Run which is really awesome, and it does allow for more processing and run time.
When you have a large implementation and design that heavily uses Cloud Functions to execute tasks, it will become very important to keep your Cloud Functions up to date always and easily deploy your code changes and fixes.
The usual way of doing that is by either from the cloud console, or from the command line using #gcloud command line tool.
However whatever of these 2 methods you use, you still do this manually…
In this video I will show you one useful way of automating this with the help of Google Cloud Build!
I will show you how you can create a pipeline very quickly and easily to maintain your Cloud Function using a cloudbuild.yaml file and by mirroring a #github repository to Google Cloud Source Repositories repo.
I will also show you the prerequisites and requirements for that as well, and you will see how easy it is!
