In this video, I show you how to fix Shadowplay Instant Repay not working issues where you can’t record or clip anything. There are a few solutions if shadowplay isn’t recording, the easiest being to turn on and off instant replay. This will reset instant replay and will often allow you to clip videos again.
Another reason why instant replay may not be working is because the game you’re using isn’t supported, or because you’re trying to clip your desktop. For instant replay to work for this you will need to enable desktop capture. With this option enabled you will be able to record your screen not just your gameplay. This means games that aren’t supported can be captured using this method. Alternatively, you can also use instant replay to clip your desktop.
If shadowplay still isn’t working then it may be due to there not being enough available storage on your drive. By default the C drive is typically used for the temporary files and gallery. If the selected drive is too full then instant replay won’t be able to create the necessary files to work. One solution is to clean out the drive, removing unneeded files and recordings. Alternatively, you can choose to use another drive on your PC if available. This will give you more room for your recordings and fix shadowplay if it isn’t recording due to storage issues.
Another option to fix shadowplay not recording issues is to turn off and on the game overlay. This can be done through the NVIDIA app settings. Once turned off you will want to give it a few seconds before turning it back on.
