In this Lecture, I will discuss the Scientific Revolution, where early Science began mostly in early Modern Europe, and also the highly influential Age of Enlightenment (Reason) which followed on its heals. Both ushered in a new age of new technological ideas, fostered democracy, and even led to revolutions that changed the world.

Please research a little about these lecture topics either in your textbook or via the Internet (Google, etc.):

Who was Nicolaus Copernicus?  What was the Copernican Revolution? Why was Galileo Galilei persecuted by the Catholic Church? What new scientific theories were Sir Isaac Newton famous for developing? What was the Age of Enlightenment (Reason)? Who were the Philosophes? Who was Voltaire?  What were intellectuals such as Denis Diderot, Baron de Montesquieu and Jean-Jacques Rousseau famous for?

This Lecture includes two short videos on Nicolas Copernicus from Biography, and a brief video on Sir Isaac Newton from Studies Weekly.
