How to pick up stitches for borders on knitting

In this installment of Tiny Tutorials, I demonstrate how to pick up (AKA pickup and knit) in the two types of edges you’ll encounter: bound off edges and side edges. For both, stab your needle into the fabric, wrap the working yarn around the needle as you would for knitting, and then pull the new stitch through to the RS.

Crisp pickup lines and smooth edges that don’t ruffle will elevate your knitting, taking it from homemade to handmade. 💕 Happy knitting!
