In this video we take a ride on board Metro North Railroad Hudson Line train #8709 en route to Croton-Harmon. The train's consist was a 6 car Bombardier M7A EMU set. The Hudson Line is a 74 mile long heavy rail line operated by MTA Metro North Railroad and runs between Grand Central Terminal and Poughkeepsie. The inner service runs local to Croton-Harmon while the outer service runs express up to Poughkeepsie. The Hudson Line is electrified as far north as Croton-Harmon. Just north of Spuyten-Duyvil, the Hudson Line joins Amtrak's Empire Corridor and runs adjacent to the Hudson River. The Empire Corridor runs beyond Poughkeepsie, which is the northernmost station on Metro North Railroad's Hudson Line. Amtrak service continues to destinations such as Albany-Rensselaer, NY Niagara Falls, NY & ON, Toronto, Montreal, Burlington, VT and Chicago.
