1330 - Singapore's Early Settlements & Trade

As early as the 1300s, Singapore was a place where many from around the region and the world, would come to trade. It was also where different peoples coexisted peacefully. Wang Dayuan, a Chinese trader who visited Singapore in the early 1300s, describes two settlements here at that time – Banzu and Long Ya Men.
