In this video, we're showing you how we upgraded our old Hiseeu security video surveillance system by adding another NVR but using the same monitor. Backgroud: We purchased an Hisseu 8-Channel WiFi Video Security and Surveillance System kit with four 1080p bullet cameras almost exactly 4 years ago. We published several videos - installation, set up, initial reviews, first impression, how to fix errors, diagnose connection issues and more on our youtube channel, many of which have garnered thousand of views, and we have been inundated with hundred of questions, even until today. Apparently Hiseeu system is quite popular on Amazon.
As you can see from the listing above, the camera and NVR technology has changed tremendously. We now have human, pet & vehicle detection, facial recognition, 2, 3 or 4K wth 5, 8 or even 12 MP megapixel cameras. The prices have also gone up exponentially. But the truth is, the quality of the pictures is not really significant, not at visually.
As far as update goes, we haven't really had a lot of issues with the system other than sometimes it's cumbersome to set up especially when replacing the camera, but we've only had to replace one bullet camera before today, but that one was replaced free of charge by Hiseeu seller on Amazon. So 4 years later, another bullet camera bite the dust. Of course there are several options available to us i.e. using our old spare bullet camera, buying a new PTZ, switching from wifi to wired, using repeater etc.. But we're not too particularly worried because we have upgraded our system by adding another 8-channel WiFi NVR which support up to 4K cameras and with facial recognition and image detection.
Since our old system is still working, we do not plan to discard them but rather we're going to keep them until they breaks. In this video we're giving or showing you a preview of our expanded system. In order to accommodate both systems we're using an HDMI switcher so that we don't have to have dual monitors. We also kept the old system as DVR and connecting the cameras wirelessly, but dedicating the new system as NVR, but instead of wifi, using direct wired ethernet cables, similar to that of PoE system.
We will publish a dedicated video discussing this upgrade so check out that video once published.
