A review of the new 2021 Heljan AEC Railcar, specifically car number 22 in GWR livery.
I've been waiting to get my hands on this model since it was announced because I've really wanted to get a railcar for the layout. I came very close to buying the Dapol version, but after seeing Sam's Trains review which suggested it might not be very good I decided to wait for the Heljan release and I'm glad I did.
The detail is great, it runs really well and the lighting is very impressive. Only the interior lets it down because they've not detailed any of the saloons or cabs and the screw heads are clearly visible.
I've put a Road and Rails LokSound V5 in mine with a bass enhanced speaker which really brings it to life with incredible sounds.
