During interviews for the 2016 film "Red Tails," Tuskegee Airman Roscoe Brown tells the story of how white bombers reacted upon learning they would have to stay on the base overnight.

On Feb. 19, 1942, the Army Air Corps' all African American 100th Pursuit Squadron, later designated a fighter squadron, was activated at Tuskegee Institute. Dr. Roscoe Brown served as a fighter pilot in this squadron, which served honorably in England and in other regions of the European continent during World War II.
