It is one of the most famous winter events in Japan and attracts millions of visitors from around the world. We are visiting the Susukino venue to see the impressive ice sculptures of all sizes. A few blocks of the Susukino street is closed off from vehicles in the evening so visitors can walk and observe the intricate details of ice sculptures up close. Some of the popular displays are the ice sculpture encapsulating a fish, large-scale Ainu ice sculptures, and ice mascots of commercial broadcasting stations.
