Japji Sahib English Explanation Katha of 2nd Pauri, 2 of 2

With Guru's blessings, the SIKHI in English series will be going through the entire Sri Jap Ji Sahib, the very first Bani in Sri Guru Granth Sahib and trying understand it in English alongside singing Gurbani kirtan to help explain further.
This video focuses on the end of the second Pauri of Sri Jap Ji Sahib where Guru Sahib says that "Nanak Hukmae je Bujhe, ta Haumai Kehe na Koe" We try to understand what is haumai using Bani from Aasa ki Vaar, and also examine why understanding the divine will would stop us speaking through our sense of self. We look at shabads like "Haumai Naavai Naal Virodh Hai" and sing the kirtan of "Se Gursikh Dhan Dhan Hai". Finally we look at Guru's prescribed method of losing this sense of self and gaining a sense of being part of the Divine, ie, the Vaheguru Mantar. "Vaheguru GurMantar hai, jap haumai Khoe" and we sing Vaheguru Gurmantar. There is beautiful kirtan by Southall own British born kirtani, Ravinderpal Singh Khalsa.
With the grace of Guruji, SIKHI in English, our new initiative is every Sunday from 6-7pm at Park Avenue Gurdwara, Southall. English discourse alongside kirtan and simran by local kirtanees. Please give us your darshan and sangat. More information at www.everythings13.org
