Despite being advised to limit his travels due to his age, Benedict XVI made 24 trips, including visits to Germany, Spain, the United States, Latin America, Africa, the Holy Land and Lebanon. Some of his most emblematic trips were attending World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany, praying at Ground Zero in New York and visiting Cuba, where he met with Fidel Castro and advocated for political prisoners. His last trip was to Lebanon, where he promoted peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims.
