6-lber foot artillery are some of the lightest cannons in the game, and are the earliest artillery available to most factions (and all playable factions). They are near-identical to 6-lber Horse Artillery in every way; however, they can limber and unlimber more quickly, though they are slightly more expensive to train and maintain and are also far less maneuverable. Compared to heavier cannons, 6-lbers have less range and power, but make up for this with their much better accuracy: with the exception of Artillerie à Cheval for France, they are the most accurate artillery most factions can field. They are the best artillery for inflicting kills once targets are within range thanks to their superior accuracy, as firepower does not matter when targeting non-buildings: a soldier killed by a 6-lber cannonball is just as dead as one hit by a 12-lber. However, 6-lbers are a poor choice for attacking walls due to their light calibre and inferior range. Their Canister Shot range, while short, still comfortably outranges most non-artillery units. Against skirmishers, however, 6-lber Foot Artillery have shorter range when using canister shot, allowing skirmishers to pick off crews with ease provided that they don't get too close. When used in conjunction with heavier caliber cannons, they can automatically stutter their canister shot fire (firing at different intervals as opposed to all at once) due to their shorter canister shot range prompting them to fire later, creating a very effective continuous barrage that eliminates the weakness of having long gaps of reloading time. Like most other artillery, 6-lber Foot Artillery regiments have the ability to place Gabionades if left on the world map for more than one turn without moving, greatly improving their resistance to enemy fire at the cost of sacrificing their mobility and severely restricting their cone of fire to those targets that are directly in front of them.

6-In Howitzers are the French variant of the generic 7-lber Howitzers available to most other factions. They boast superior accuracy and reloading, but require more advanced ordnance buildings to train, and are more expensive to train and maintain.
